Title:Shelter Support Worker
Job Order #: 015
Wage: $15.55 per hour
Hours: casual on call, weekends, days and nights

Qualifications:
  • Anyone who applied for the last posting please re-apply.
  • Experience working with or trained in domestic violence
  • Mature and able to provide confidential non judgmental support
  • Able to work shift work
  • Willing to go through a criminal record check
  • Willing to participate and attend available training


  • Duties:
  • Work independently
  • Answer general inquiries by telephone or at the door
  • Assess crisis situations
  • LI>-Calm and comfort those under stress
  • Help residents in performing their duties, i.e. meals, child care, household chores
  • Assist in maintaining harmony in the shelter
  • Supervise children and provide parenting support
  • Record all residents and update files at end of shift
  • Familiarize next shift with day’s events
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Reports to/is responsible to the Executive Director
